Soldier Front RIP

JUST CLICK DOWNLOAD | Soldier Front is a great MMO-FPS game released on February 14th. It focus's mostly on Team and Clan wars where you have a certain objective, whether it be to stop the enemy from reaching a sub, or to blow up the enemy teams base. Soldier front is the American version of the game and it's early in development compared to the other versions. In Japan and Korea they call it Special Force and it has a lot more content then the American one (Although it's recommended to play this one if you live in America). You can find this game at www.ijji.com along with other various games including Gunz: The duel, Drift City, and Gunbound. But enough talk about the other games. Let's get on to the main part of this review. The reviewing!

Ok, so the graphics aren't that great, mediocre 3-D graphics with graphical glitches but it's not so bad that it will ruin this game. The lighting (Or Shadowing, which is an option you must turn on) is also pretty nice, but they still need to give more graphical detail to the actual objects in the game like Boxes and houses. Seriously, there is barely any art in this game. Sure, the guns are extremely well drawn, but those are the only things well drawn. I've played many other games like soldier front and pretty much all of them have better graphics. The main thing ijji needs to work on is the character animations and character graphics which are horrendous.

The music is pretty good, although after a few months it gets boring pretty fast. I like the trumpets playing and the horns when you're waiting for a game to start or you're in the lobby. But during the game the music is amazing! Or the back ground music. In many maps, like Plasma you can hear what it would sound like if you were there, you can hear some of the foreign music playing in some parts of it, you can hear the trucks and their engines rumbling. But the main part about the sounds and music is that it actually is directly related to the game. Many times I can tell if someone is coming close to me or if they are around the corner because I can hear their footsteps. And sometimes I can tell when there is a person farther away by their gun shots. Recently ijji added some new sounds to make the game more ‘realistic'. Now when you get hit your character actually makes noise and you can hear the bullet fizzing past you.

The game play is pretty average if not above-average although it has its flaws. The way that the game play actually works is like it normally would on most other FPS games; you buy a gun and use it to kill other people. There are many, many different types of guns and grenades as well (Although compared to many other FPS's there really aren't that many). They have snipers, sub-machine guns, machine guns, rifles, shotguns, revolvers, and many other types of guns. They also have grenades used for various different things, a normal Hand-Grenade, handy for killing those who camp in places, a smoke grenade, great for rushing snipers, and a flash grenade, for rushing into those crowded places. They add many factors into the actual game play too, there's (Obviously) ammo clips, so you will have to reload instead of constantly shooting for ever (Which would ruin most FPS games), there's power, which is the damage it does to another player (Players have 100 HP) and then, there's recoil, which is how far the gun moves upwards when shooting. For example, If you had a Rocket Launcher in real life, and you were holding it in your shoulders, and you shot, the rocket launcher would lurch upwards from the force of the blast (Which is why they put a tripod under it before they shoot it) Now that I've explained the different weapons and uses, I'll explain what you have to do in the game. Ok, so, you've gotten you're weapons, you're grenades, you're armor, helmets, etcetera. Now, you have to join a game. You'll start off in a lobby (After choosing a server), where you then proceed to join a room. Then, you will start the game after everyone is ready and the leader starts (Or maybe the stupid leader will be AFK). There are many different maps in the game with different missions for each one, for example, in a map called Shanghai, a snipers haven you might say, the blue team has to stop the red team from reaching the sub, otherwise they lose. There is also a score card for each game that records you're kills, deaths, losses, ties, wins, and ping. (Ping is the amount of lag in the game, for every certain amount of ping; you have a few extra seconds of lag) At the end of each game, all that is added or multiplied or whatever it is and you will get experience points. After a certain amount of experience Points, you will grow ranks. The higher you're rank, the more respected you are. There's also a thing called K/D ratio, or kill and death ratio, meaning that for every death you have, you will kill this many people. For example, if you have a K/D Ration of 3.00, you will kill 3 people per every death. Of course it's not constant but it will show how good you are at the game. So far the game is doing fine, IJJI has added a new Team Death Match, and they have fixed pretty much every single hack in the game (And almost all glitches) so you probably won't run into one of those for a long time. Overall this is a great game, updated every month with new content and guns and what not. There is probably a lot I didn't tell you in this review about the game but then that would ruin the fun of you figuring out! So go play the game!

There is no story in this game, so this doesn't really count, all you do is make a character, join a game, and do what the mission tells you to do... so this won't count towards the overall score

EVER played a match that was the same as another match. Ever. I could seriously play this forever (I have been playing it since the day it came out), I could actually play games forever but then I think I would starve to death… but this is just me, so I don't know about you guys.

This is definitely a good game, especially with it being free and all. Although to have the most fun you should get a relatively good internet connection (Not Dial Up) so as to not lag. This is the second version of my review because the game is updating constantly and becoming better and better. Overall I would suggest you play this game to try it out yourself. Compared to my last review, where I said there were a lot of glitches. There are pretty much none now. There are no more hacks, no more known glitches, and the actual game won't ruin anything like it did last time (It would shut down the computer). So I would suggest you play it! And for people, who quit, try it out again! It's a great game now.
